Choir (Feel the Rhythm)

One of my passions I have would be Choir

When I first started choir I was in 7th grade in Redwood Middle School.  One thing I love about
choir would be that we are somewhat of a family.  In choir I was able to make new friends,
and I was also able to bond with the friends I already had.  In choir it was like its own little
community.  Not only do we make new friendships we also learn a performing art.  With each
concert we have, we are able reflect back, and make our next performance, even better than we did the last performance.:)

For our choir routine we start off by warming up our voices by doing simple exercises and breathing exercises.  After doing our vocal exercises we do sight reading.  With sight reading we learn to read
music.:)  Then, after we do  sight reading, we then  jump right into the different music pieces we are preparing for the concert :)
Already this year we have had a couple of choir performances in the Thousand Oaks High School performing arts center or also known as the (PAC).  We are actually having our last concert this upcoming week which will be very fun and I can't wait. :) One of my favorite music pieces were doing this week would have to be Queen and Baba Yetu.

For example, Baba Yetu is an African tribal music song.  This song is in a different language and has really fun acoustics added to it as well.  It shows a more happy and joyous music.  While other songs might be more gentle, and soft spoken.  Our teacher is Janna Santangelo, and she is so amazing and she makes the choir a blast to be in, for each and everyone of the students. We also have an amazing accompanist,  Kevin:)  These are one of the many reasons why choir is something I am passionate about:)
